Security considerations when adopting new AI models

Teams are adopting newer AI models (Argon, Fable, and others) because they deliver better results for reasoning, code generation, and data extraction. The performance gains are real, but each new model you integrate introduces new security considerations.

First, you need to understand where your data goes. Some models run entirely on your infrastructure. Others make API calls to third-party services. If you are handling customer data or proprietary information, you need to know whether that data leaves your environment, how it is encrypted in transit, and whether the vendor retains copies for training or logging.

Second, access control becomes more complex. You might have multiple models serving different teams or use cases. Each one needs its own authentication, rate limiting, and audit logging. If you are using a model as part of an internal tool, you also need to think about prompt injection attacks, where a user crafts input that tricks the model into revealing information it should not.

Third, compliance requirements do not pause while you experiment. If you operate under GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations, you need to document how each model processes data, where it stores logs, and how long those logs are retained. This is not optional.

We work with teams that are integrating AI into existing infrastructure. If you are evaluating models and want to talk through the security and compliance side, reach out.
